After the Thaw . . . Only Three or Four Days Later

What a difference three days make, when a thaw arrives over two of them.  Both yesterday and today the temperature reached mid- to high-40s, didn't even drop below freezing last night.  (Feb. 8, 2009)

The lot's melted down to dirt, the snow is disappearing.

The path is clear, including its thick coating of ice. I used lots of rock salt yesterday and did a lot of chopping to loosen it up.

This is the first time I've seen its bottom paint in a long time.

The re-covered tarp held up perfectly, and even the snow depth around Chip Ahoy is going down, granted slowly.
